A new Thanksgiving tradition...

I found Hank the Thankful turkey on etsy. He is just so adorable. He is painted on canvas and his feathers are chalkboard paint. We will periodically switch out who the thankful person will be and they will fill the feathers with their list. I thought maybe I would make one of these once I saw how it was done but honestly I couldn't make it as cute and the way she had it packaged was awesome. I have asked her to design a Valentine's and St. Patrick's day one too : )
We are thankful today. Our friend Hudson is out of the hospital and everyone seems to be on the mend. I am so thankful it has been shortlived and not as bad as it could have been. We are still laying low because now I am concerned with Victoria getting germs from other kids before her system could handle them.

Thanksgiving decorations...

Well, since I am home, going on day FOUR...I am glad I have decorated my home for Thanksgiving and I can enjoy looking at them. It has been fun to take out items I haven't seen in years and enjoy. I still haven't finished my table as I need some brown placemats and napkins and I haven't been able to get those yet. The rest of my leaf glasses arrived and I ordered turkey placecard holders. We have some friends invited to dinner on the 22nd so I will get everything ready by then : )
Victoria is feeling much better and so far everyone else is healthy. I decided to stay home from bible study however just as a precaution...I just can't imagine one more person sick. We have 6 already from the Halloween party. Absolutely no one else from the other party we went to but I shouldn't say that so soon!!

Thanksgiving ideas...

I have found some wonderful sites with great ideas and so today I am linking up with www.wearethatfamily.com for Works for me Wednesday.
I have two things, my November magnetic calendar which I love. Made with a magnetic calendar, some scrapbook paper and a frame...I have 6 months done so far! Love this calendar.
I also have the Thanksgiving calendar from Pottery barn. Each year we have done something different and this year we are doing something thankful each day. Last night was to draw something we are thankful for. Victoria drew a webkinz, Adam drew his family and God and I drew the family in my beautiful new home. The kids are really enjoying this!!

Swine flu confirmed...

Well, Victoria has the swine flu. She is very very sick. We started the Tamiflu right away but she has only kept one dose down. Here is what I learned about the vaccine for all who have taken it. First, it is two weeks before you are immune AND since kids need 2 doses AND they have to have 4 weeks between doses...we are talking SIX weeks before a child is completely immune. What I forgot to ask the Dr. is that now that she has it, will she need to take the second dose? I am hesitant to give it to her but they insist that this flu will be months in the running so we sure don't want it again.
Please pray for all the kids we were around this last weekend, especially our dear Hudson as

Thanksgiving table idea

I was searching google last night...did you know you can search by "image"? I am so addicted. I have been looking at pictures of tables, crafts, scrapbook rooms etc. Anyway, I came across this idea and absolutely loved it. I have candles in a candleabra on my table now with 5 candles so trying to figure out what to write : ) I am doing this though...such an inexpensive idea. I am going to cute my letters out of my cricut and get the candles at the $ store.
Well, my baby girl is sick. Really feeling terrible. It started with a headache Sunday morning and by 4:00 she had a fever of 101.5 and it hasn't really come down. I slept with her all night and she was just boiling. This morning she got sick and is just laying around, if you have a chance say a little prayer that she feels better quickly. Makes me mad I got her a vaccine and now she is sick, I at least tried to do the right thing..ugh.

Luigi and Hannah Montana...

We had a GREAT Halloween!! We went trick or treating downtown and then to our new shopping area, uptown and then we went to a friends for a short party and then to our annual Halloween party. The kids had such a good time. The weather was super mild and great for being outside.
I did make my spider cookies and the witches hat and then brought them to Adam's soccer game.
I am now switching out Halloween for Thanksgiving, pictures to come : )

Well the countdown is over...

The day has arrived and we actually have clear skies out...let's hope they last until at least 3:00 when we will head downtown with everyone else in Gig Harbor to trick or treat the merchants in that area. Then we will head to updtown to trick or treat there and then our friend the Austin's for dinner and then MORE trick or treating. Victoria and Adam got candy and a Starbuck's bear from the Halloween ghost and Victoria has already wanted to trade her candy for a webkinz...go figure. She will have SSSOOO much after tonight. I will send some pictures after we get the trick or treaters all dressed and ready to go.
